Canva: Highly misunderstood and underused. Canva is no replacement for Illustrator or Photoshop but it is the pinnacle meeting place between the Strategy and Creative departments. It facilitates real collaboration and we use it to manage our Marketing Overviews, Instagram Feeds, Templates etc. It has essentially replaced Google Slides for the thinking team and Indesign for the creating team.

CapCut: As an account manager these days you have to be very versatile and apps like TikTok have demanded more creativity from all departments including Accounts and Community Management. It is important to be able to jump on a CapCut trend yourself or rebuild creative within the platforms. It has also replaced InShot as my go-to on-the-go editor for event coverage stories and reels.

The real backbone of JTG is GSuite for so many different reasons as it has facilitated so many parts of our business. And whilst we have you, anyone still working on Word and not Google Docs is no longer just “not willing to try new things' but pretty much stunting your progress as if you were using Windows 95. Stop it. Work online and stop making a thousand copies of the same document that could be shared amongst team members.

Google Authenticator: Just download it. You’ve been avoiding it but it’s literally just like a secret keeper of your passwords that grants you access to your accounts with access codes without having to do the WhatsApp song and dance of timing out two-factor authentication requests. Michelle our MD lives and dies by this app and if you don’t understand it, is willing to host a free seminar and invite you all.

Google Photos: As a SMM, we do a lot of event coverage which means we have a lot of 4K 60 fps IPhone videos that need to go somewhere securely and on the fly if we don’t get to upload everything. It is the backup of your dreams and automatically syncs and sorts any photo that ever graced your mobile.

Well, this guy - BUT be warned, it’s expensive and SO many platforms have now prohibited 3rd party tracking which results in manual reporting (eg. TikTok, Pinterest, X etc.)

Meta Business Suite: Get the mobile app - you can mass invite people who engage in organic and paid content. Also, you can track all meta messages and comments there. BIG ADVICE. Never lose access to your Business Manager. BIG problems down the road - let us know if you want us to explain why!
